MACHINE PERFORMANCE

The 2022 Ford Mustang specs has seen a shift that reduces horsepower and torque for the V8 models, specifically the Mustang GT line and the Mach 1 line. For the Mustang GT, the V8 powertrain produces 450 horsepower and 420 pounds-feet of torque. The Mach 1 line sees some improves at 470 horsepower and 410 pounds-feet of torque. Ford has yet to release any news on exactly why this reduction occurred but most drivers shouldn’t notice any significant differences in drive experience. However, we do note that the Ecoboost’s Turbocharged 4-Cylinder engine has seen some great improvements which blow the older mustangs out of the water. This powertrain option produces around 310 horsepower and 350 pounds-feet of torque. There’s also the High Performance Package which gives the Ecoboost an additional 20 horsepower.

INTERIOR, SOLACE & BAGGAGE

The 2022 Ford Mustang interior has been improved, becoming more like a modern reimagining of the cabins of older Mustang models. The passenger volume of the Mustang sits at 82.8 cubic feet of space for the fastback and 79.2 cubic feet for the convertible model. 4 passengers can be seated comfortably with the front seats being given either a 4-way adjustable setup or a 6-way power adjustable setup on the highest tiers. The cargo capacity on the Mustang is just enough for a few bags and items. The Fastback has 13.5 cubic feet of space while the convertible has 11.3 cubic feet.

TECHNOLOGY

The infotainment system of the 2022 Ford Mustang makes use of Ford’s SYNC3 technology package, coming with a 4.2-inch LCD screen on the center console. This system comes with Voice Recognition features and comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. There are also options for a Wi-Fi hotspot to be installed which is done in partnership with AT&T. The sound system found as a standard option for most Mustang models is a 6-speaker setup which comes with AM/FM stereo and is also compatible with MP3 media files. This can be upgraded to a premium audio system sourced from B&O.

SAFETY

The NHTSA has already given their review on the safety features of the 2022 Ford Mustang, giving it a 5-star rating for overall safety. Ford has given a lot of thought on how they can make passengers feel safer while also pushing performance as much as they can. Some standard features available on the Mustang include the Advance Trac suite which comes with stability control, anti-braking systems, and other driver-assistive features as normal or optional features. Another addition is the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite which gives it blind spot information systems and lane keeping and following assists.

WARRANTY

Ford’s warranty plan is just about on-par with the rest of the industry, not really having any plan that deviates from the norm. Their bumper-to-bumper warranty plan lasts for 3 years or the first 36,000 miles different, whichever comes first. There’s also a powertrain warranty which spans for 5 years with a mileage limit of 60,000 miles driven. The corrosion warranty lasts for 5 years without a mileage limit imposed on it. Drivers can make use of the brand’s roadside assistance 24/7 which is a great addition to this package.
