2023 ACURA INTEGRA IS UPGRADED TO 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION

In this modern era, where the trend of manual transmission in sports cars is rapidly fading away just like the Toyota Supra and Chevrolet Corvette, The 2023 Acura has continued its legacy as with its previous versions with the manual transmission speed stick. The 2023 Acura Integra will be making its way to the U.S markets with an upgraded manual transmission. Acura authorities have shared this news with the Integra enthusiasts by uploading a video on Twitter that showed the 2023 Acura Integra’s 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The video only showed the shifter close-up. However, the video was a complete glance at the history of the Integra. It starts with the 1986 first-generation Acura with the first gear. Pulling the second gear comes up with the 1991 second-generation Acura. The gear shifting keeps on changing to the third generation with the 2021 Integra Type R and finally, the last shift showed the fourth-generation 2023 Integra, the RSX Type S with the six-speed manual transmission.

Acura continued with its promise of sharing its components with Honda. Following the recent Honda practice with the shape and design, the new car is coming with a very similar shifter and console-setup. The shift knob is wrapped with leather, and the aluminum knob is accented over with the bright red-stitched, 6-speed pattern making it the first six-speed Integra to be introduced in the U.S markets

Honda is also going to bring some additional body styles with Integra but not with a two-door variant. Some previous teasers have concluded that the Integra will be a 5-door hatchback definitely coupe-shaped. A checkmark-shaped bold front and rear with the Integra watermark imprinted on the rear bumper. Integra’s original body shape will flip from the Type-R to RSX Type S. The sports car will arrive in the markets with an All- wheels drive option that will give it the advantage over the Front-drive-only Honda Civic Type R which will surely be praised by the fans.

It is estimated that the Integra will come in a shape similar to the Honda Civic Type-R turbocharged 2-liter. This means that the powertrain will generate 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of the shape and door variant, it is clear that Integra fans will enjoy a great driving experience.

Regardless of the powertrain to be installed under the hood, this sports car has yet to reveal a number of secrets to enthusiasts. It is also being expected that it will be the least expensive vehicle in its lineup. For now, there is still the hope that the automakers will soon share more updates about the car in near future.
