FORD GT ALAN MANN HERITAGE EDITION AT CHICAGO AUTO SHOW: PAYS TRIBUTE TO EXPERIMENTAL CARS OF YEARS PAST

As the 2022 Chicago Auto Show kicks into high-gear, we’ll be seeing numerous brands and companies feature strikingly bold designs as the show goes on. Ford, having a long-lasting legacy in the world of race cars, has decided to pay tribute to Alan Mann’s prototypes by creating a new limited-edition vehicle. The 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition makes use of unique exterior stylings and racing elements to set itself apart from the rest of the GT lineup.

Alan Mann was known for using lightweight materials in the creation of the AM GT-1. This sparked a wave of developments that helped the brand win Le Mans in the 1966 season. Now, the Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition takes the same approach with Carbon fiber components present on the wheels, side sills, and engine louvers among other places. It’s been fitted with a set of Brembo brake calipers adorned in black and red, along with some black lug nuts to make the design a bit more on the modern side.

The interior also has its own Carbon fiber elements with it being applied all around the passenger cabin. Even the seats themselves are composed of carbon fiber and wrapped around Ebony Alcantara material. The GT logo is embossed onto the head restraints and seats, accompanied by gold and red stitching. Last is the instrument panel which is covered by Ebony leather and Alcantara material.

That isn’t the only Heritage Edition to be released by Ford as this one marks the seventh release in its lineup. The 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition is now available for select Ford GT Customers. Deliveries are expected to be sent out by this quarter of 2022.
